Concept Class: Goliath
Class: Goliath - True tanker / interrupter. Slow-moving behemoth (85% speed of other classes) charges back-row supporters to knock them down individually, or through AoE earth-rattling skills. High defense, but has very few damage-dealing skills.
Armor: not planned yet
Attributes:
Max HP - 540
Max EN - 35
EN regen - 3 pips
primary - Endurance: every fourth level grants +1 damage absorption. Linked to skills related to decreasing damage received.
landscape - No inherent effect. Modifies landscape in someway to achieve desired effect (pound earth to knock down foes, club foe with log, create wave to interrupt [in water])
bone-breaking - No inherent effect. Linked to skills where goliath uses strength to knock down, knock-out, crush, rattle, etc. foes
roaring - No inherent effect. Linked to skills that cause interrupt to foes, or stat boost to friends through various roars by goliath
Skills:
Endurance -
Bulk Up: For 10 seconds AL +5. If you attack, skill ends. EC 5|CS 3/4|RC 10
Blow Block: For 5 seconds 75% chance to block upcoming melee attack. If successful, foe is dazed for 1..6 seconds. 10|1/4|15
Landscape -
Pound Earth: Pound fists on ground. Any foe in area using skill is interrupted. Any moving foe in area is knocked down. 10|2|15
Swing Log: Knockback adjacent foes. If foe is attacking, foe takes 5..15 damage. 10|1/2|30
Make Waves: All foes in area in water are knocked down for 1..5 seconds. If foe was usink skill, dazed an addition 1..5 seconds. 5|1|15
Bone-breaking -
Bear Hug: Targeted adjacent foe takes 1..15 damage and is dazed for 1..5 seconds. If foe was attacking, takes addition 1..5 damage. 5|1/4|15
Swat: Targeted adjacent foe is knocked down. If foe was casting spell, that spell is disabled and takes twice recharge time. 5|1/4|15 (might need to be adjusted, maybe too spammable)
Break Leg: Targeted adjacent foe is crippled for 5..25 seconds and bleeds for 2..10 seconds. 15% chance to replace ailments with 15..25 damage. 15|3/4|30
Shake: Targeted adjacent foe is crippled for 1..10 seconds and dazed for 2..15 seconds. Foe loses all adrenaline. 10|1|20
Bash Heads: Targeted adjacent foe and nearest other foe are knocked down and dazed for 3..10 seconds. If no other foe is in range, daze only lasts 1..5 seconds. 10|1|30
Roaring -
Halitosis: Adjacent foes become poisoned for 1..5 seconds. 5|1/4|10
Behemoth Growl: [Elite] All nearby foes are knocked down and have their skill disabled for 2..5 seconds. Easily interrupted. 15|2|45
Growl of Anticipation: [Elite] All allies adrenaline gauges are filled. Easily interrupted. 10|3|45
Lion's Roar: Any adjacent foe activating a skill or spell has that spell interrupted and disabled for twice it's normal length. 10|1 1/2|30
I think this could be a well-balanced class that has its advantages and disadvantages. Having certain characteristics of warriors, rangers, and mesmers it may be too similar to stuff that already exists; but I think it's role in battle could not be filled by any class combination out there right now. It isn't so much for damage dealing, but disorganizing the opposing party so that your party can pick them off more easily one at a time. Of course, if the opposing party has a goliath too... . Suggestions?
